Organika
Organika's own account of its founding starts small: founder Tom Chin launched the company in 1990 in British Columbia after a herbal remedy helped cure a kidney ailment of his, starting with just four supplements — Coenzyme Q10, garlic, Korean red ginseng, and ginkgo biloba — that he personally delivered to health food stores out of the back of his van.
The company is still based and manufactured out of Richmond, BC, now producing more than 500 natural health products, including what it markets as Canada's #1 selling collagen powder. It's remained a family business through the transition to a second generation — Tom Chin's sons Aaron and Jordan now serve as CEO and President/COO respectively, with Tom still involved in the company he started.
